Sodium Benzoate

Sodium Benzoate Nf/Fcc Benzoate, Sodium, Nffcc is a bacteriostatic and fungistatic preservative commonly used in acidic foods, such as salad dressings, carbonated drinks, jams and fruit juices, and pickles. It is also used in medicines and cosmetics as a preservative. Sodium benzoate has the E number E211 and is also used in fireworks as a fuel. However, caution should be taken when using it as rocket fuel because of its sensitivity to impact and high danger of explosion when the motor is pressed.

Key Features:

  • Bacteriostatic and fungistatic preservative
  • Used in acidic foods, medicines, and cosmetics
  • E number E211
  • Used in fireworks as fuel

Product Specifications:

Material: Sodium benzoate
Maximum level allowed in food: 0.1%
Caution: We recommend starting with lower amounts first and gradually increasing if experiencing low shelf life. Also, caution should be taken when using it as rocket fuel because of its sensitivity to impact and high danger of explosion when the motor is pressed.
