Chromium Oxide Green (CR2O3)

Chromium Oxide Green (Chromic Oxide; Chromium(III) Oxide)

Chromium(III) oxide (Cr₂O₃), also known as chromic oxide, is an inorganic compound and a principal oxide of chromium. Renowned for its stability and vibrant green hue, it serves as a green pigment in paints, inks, glasses, and ceramic glazes. When used in glazes, Cr₂O₃ creates a range of green shades, including lime green, kelly green, and black. Its green tones can be modified with small additions of other oxides, like cobalt or copper oxide. Chromium oxide green is also used in polishing pastes, catalysts, and as an advanced green pigment for various industries.

For similar performance, we recommend: PVOH2288
This grade is comparable to:
  • Polyvinyl Alcohol Grade 22-88
  • PVA 217
  • Elvanol® 52-22

Polyvinyl Alcohol Grade 25-88

PVOH2588 is a medium-viscosity (25 cps), partially hydrolyzed (88%) water-soluble polymer that dissolves in warm or room-temperature water. Equivalent to Elvanol® 52-22, Poval 26-88, Poval 22-88, Selvol 523, and PVA-217, this polymer is widely used in coatings, adhesives, and films. It is especially valued for its higher binding capacity compared to synthetic latex and starch, making it ideal for spiral wound tubes, coated paper, linerboard, and specialty water-soluble films. PVOH2588 also adds strength to recycled boards and enhances oil and grease resistance.

Additional applications include stabilizing vinyl acetate, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride emulsions, re-moisturizing adhesives, temporary binders for ceramics, photosensitive coatings, and as a soil anti-redeposition agent. It is suitable for use in textile coatings and joint compounds.

polyvinylalcohol-grade-49-88
Polyvinylalcohol Grade 49-88 (PVOH4988)

Polyvinyl Alcohol Grade 49-88

PVOH Solution Preparation

Polyvinyl Alcohol Grade 49-88 is a high-viscosity (49 cps for a 4% solution) and partially hydrolyzed (88%) water-soluble polymer. Equivalent to PVOH5042, Elvanol® 50-42, SELVOL 540, and POVAL 49-88, it dissolves in cold water but benefits from heating or warm water for complete dissolution. This polymer offers high tensile strength, tear resistance, and excellent properties as a disperser and stabilizer. Applications include stabilizing vinyl acetate, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride emulsions, re-moisturizing adhesives, temporary binders for ceramics, water-soluble films, paper adhesives, photosensitive coatings, and as a soil anti-redeposition agent. PVOH 49-88 is also widely used in personal care, construction, textile, and emulsion industries and is a key ingredient for making slime.
