STAYBELITE ESTER #10, Glycerol Ester of Partially Hydrogenated Wood Rosin (WX91108)

Staybelite® Ester 10 is the glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated wood rosin. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. It has found wide acceptance as a tackifying resin for many adhesive applications, particularly pressure sensitive and emulsion types. In general, it is useful where there is need for pale, nonoxidizing, and color stable resin.

Applications

  • Used in solvent, hot melt, and emulsion adhesives based on thermoplastic and elastomeric materials
  • Tackifier in emulsion form for natural rubber, SBR, and neoprene latex in aqueous base adhesives
  • Tackifier for natural rubber, SBR, polyisobutylene, and methacrylate resins in industrial tape uses
  • Tackifier for surgical tape and in EVA resin-based hot melt adhesives
  • Hot melt applied barrier coatings, chlorinated rubber finishes, and various protective coatings compositions
  • Component of depilatory wax compounds

Benefits

  • Pale
  • Tacky
  • Oxidation resistant
  • Emulsifiable
  • Wide range of solubility and compatibility
  • Broad regulatory approval
