PVOH Solution PreparationPolyvinyl Alcohol Grade 49-88 is a high-viscosity (49 cps for a 4% solution) and partially hydrolyzed (88%) water-soluble polymer. Equivalent to PVOH5042, Elvanol® 50-42, SELVOL 540, and POVAL 49-88, it dissolves in cold water but benefits from heating or warm water for complete dissolution.
