This NSF grade sodium silicate solution is certified to NSF/ANSI 60 as a drinking water additive, with a maximum use dose of 265 mg/L. It has a SiO₂/Na₂O ratio of 3.20, a density of 41.1° Baume, and total solids of approximately 37.60%.

It is commonly used as a foundry-grade binder, ceramic deflocculant, carton adhesive-grade product, concrete and plaster sealer, and high-temperature bonding agent. It can also be used for surface applications, solid sand molds for metal castings, and wood treatment applications. Note that liquid sodium silicate is strongly alkaline, with a pH of approximately 11.3, and should be handled with proper care.
