Carnauba Wax Flakes

Carnauba Wax Flakes is a hard, brittle, light yellow wax that provides lustrous gloss properties to many commercial wax formulations. Our top quality food/cosmetic grade Carnauba Wax is an all-vegetable derived wax in a flake form.

It is commonly used in the production of polishing waxes for shoes, furniture, leather, automobiles, floors, fruits, and wood products. Carnauba Wax is also used in cosmetics such as creams, lip balms and lipsticks, hair care products, and mascaras. It is used in lubricants such as greases and mold release, as a glazing agent in candies, gum, fruits, and paper, and in protective coatings such as varnishes, lacquers, and enamels. Additionally, Carnauba Wax is used in pharmaceuticals like salves, ointments, tablet coatings, and time-release agents, as well as in candles and inks.

Carnauba Wax is FDA approved under regulation 21 CFR 175.320, 184.1978 and listed by the C.T.F.A. Carnauba Wax Flakes are compatible with all vegetable, animal, and mineral waxes, a large variety of natural and synthetic resins, fatty acids, glycerides, and hydrocarbons. It is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol. The melting point is 85°C / 185°F.
