Stearic Acid, Flake, From Tallow

Stearic Acid is a high-purity mixture of saturated fatty acids, including octadecanoic and hexadecanoic acid, with a 50% palmitic acid content. This triple-pressed grade product is highly sought after for its excellent heat and color stability and is ideal for applications requiring such features. It is an extremely versatile product and is widely used in a range of industrial applications, such as making candles, plastics, oil pastels, cosmetics, soaps, aerosol shaving creams, and for softening rubber. It is also used as a parting compound, release agent, lubricant (in injection molding), anti-oxidation coating on metals, and manufacturing glycol stearate (used to produce a pearly effect in shampoos), zinc stearate, and other compounds. Stearic acid is insoluble in water, combustible, and non-toxic. Its typical analysis includes an acid number of 206.0 up to 210.0, unsaponifiables of 0.00% up to 0.20%, sap value of 207.0 up to 211.0, and GLC-C18 of 40% up to 50% and GLC C16 C18 of 90% up to 100%. Stearic Acid is for industrial use only, with no COA and no expiration date unless agreed upon prior to placing an order.
